Precast retaining wall units being placed on a civil site

Civil and infrastructure retaining walls

The sector the company grew up in. We build retaining walls for rail corridors, road and freight projects and bulk earthworks, working as a specialist subcontractor to civil head contractors. Our crews, plant and systems are set up for the programme discipline and inspection regime that infrastructure work demands.

How we work on civil projects

We price from the drawings and the geotechnical report, agree a programme that fits the earthworks sequence, and mobilise our own crews and plant to site. Inspection and test plans, hold points and certification are built into the job, because a wall that cannot be certified is not finished. On corridor work we are used to working within possessions, alongside live plant and under the head contractor's safety system.

Systems for civil ground

Civil sites have moving ground, heavy surcharges and long runs. Crib block and RSS precast tolerate movement and follow curves; Keymass gives mass gravity height without geogrid excavation; gabions and rock mattresses handle scour along drainage lines. We choose from all of them rather than force one system onto every batter.
