Retaining walls on Defence establishments
Two of our larger walls stand on Defence estates: 1,600 square metres at HMAS Harman in Canberra for John Holland, and 1,600 square metres at Blamey Barracks, the Army Recruit Training Centre at Kapooka, for Richard Crookes Constructions. Defence work brings its own access, security and documentation requirements, and we are set up to meet them.
What Defence work involves
Base access, personnel clearances, escorted movements and a documentation standard above the usual commercial job. The head contractor manages the interface with Defence; we manage our crews, plant and inspection records to the standard the contract sets. Both of our Defence walls were delivered under that regime, in Canberra and in the Riverina.
Why it matters to other buyers
A subcontractor that has been through Defence induction, security and quality processes on two establishments is a low-risk subcontractor on any site. The same discipline runs through our civil and commercial work.
